We are currently seeking a Shift Manager on behalf of our Client based in Feltham.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate history of working under pressure, dealing with difficult situations, be able to multi-task, go above and beyond, have experience in managing 10 + staff and have a willingness /ambition to progress within the company.

Due to the nature of the business the successful candidate must provide us with the past 10 Years of their working / education history for security purposes. You must have at least 2 year’s management experience, be flexible with working hours.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for the day to day management of Branch’s Operational Dispatch team.

Main Responsibilities:

Conduct regular performance audits to ensure adherence by all staff to all relevant company systems and procedures as detailed in the rules and regulations and company policy manuals

Investigate any alleged breaches and take appropriate action

Maximise the route profitability of all routes operated by the Branch to include costings report, inclusive of working hours and vehicle type.

  • Update branch route profitability system taking account of price increases and changes to route costings
  • Regular review of the Masterfile to ensure all jobs are invoiced correctly
  • Regular site visits to ensure consistent service all clients and monitor any changes to requirements
  • Monitoring staff hours and routes

Liase with Sales Team to establish new business requirements for routes, advise where customer requirements are producing adverse effects on route profitability

Ensure that the Company’s transport and vehicle servicing requirements adhere to both company policy and legislation, including Tacho’s locks and alarms as well as defects

Provide appropriate training for staff, taking account of both company / employee needs and changes to operational procedures

Conduct regular meetings with staff to advise and receive feedback on all aspects of branch and company operation

Communicate effectively with customers on operational matters and provide actives support in resolving operational queries

Ensure working practices and working environment complies with H+S Regulations. Maintain accurate administrative and audit systems to monitor all reported accidents / near misses

Maintain administration systems and conduct effective handover at the end of the shift

Responsible for the efficient rostering of staff

Deputise for Branch Manager during holidays and absence

To take part in development training as required by the company

Responsible for maintaining and complying with company H+S standards, thereby minimizing the risk to yourself and any other person
